Internet of Things and Robotics (COMP6967001)

Undergraduate course, BINUS University, Artificial Intelligence Program, 2026

A 2+2 credit course (theory and practicum) introducing the integration of IoT, robotics, and AI: how sensors, embedded systems, and communication protocols collect, transmit, and process data, from basic IoT concepts to designing intelligent systems that integrate devices, cloud platforms, and decision-making logic. Students build an end-to-end IoT ecosystem from prototype to deployment.

Sessions

  • Sessions 1-3: Embedded Foundations — introduction to IoT, embedded systems and ESP32, embedded programming fundamentals, digital electronics
  • Sessions 4-5: Sensing and Actuation — sensors and data acquisition, actuators and embedded control
  • Sessions 6-8: Connectivity — networking and Wi-Fi communication, wireless communication (Bluetooth, BLE, ESP-NOW), cloud connectivity and IoT platforms (HTTP and MQTT)
  • Sessions 9-10: Intelligent IoT — IoT visualization and intelligent automation, edge AI and TinyML
  • Sessions 11-13: Systems and Deployment — cloud AI and intelligent IoT systems, designing intelligent IoT systems, final presentation
